Anselm Bergstrom’s lesion was photographed by his practice nurse on a Monday and assessed by a dermatologist on the Wednesday of the following week.

Photograph-based triage moved most urgent lesion referrals to an answer within a fortnight, and moved the queue for benign findings out of the way entirely.

Adherence to topical treatment is low almost everywhere and is a design problem rather than a character one: the regimens are long, greasy and unpleasant.

Most of what we’re sent doesn’t need a person in a room. Freeing those slots is how the ones that do get seen.
